Turkey Isn’t Just for Thanksgiving

062716_LinkRV_Turkey

There’s this misconception that turkey is only for the holidays, like Thanksgiving or Christmas. But why limit yourself to eating this delicious bird only twice a year? June, believe it or not, is actually Turkey Month. To honor that, we’ve got some summer turkey recipes you’re going to love. Best of all, these recipes are totally manageable in an RV or motorhome kitchen since they don’t involve cooking an entire bird. Smart, huh?

062016_LinkRV_Fishing

Wisconsin is a great fishing destination. By all rights, it ought to be, considering that it’s positioned along the Great Lakes. Dotted with rivers and lakes, both great and small, the options are nearly limitless, so your destination may be unclear. Luckily for you, we’ve hunted down the best summer fishing spots in the state so you don’t have to.

Wisconsin Lake and River

We’d be remiss not to start things off with the eponymous lake and river. Fishing is open year round on the lake and river, and summer is a great time to visit.

Mid-May to early July is the best time to visit, if you want to be exact. The bites can slow down after July and into August. Walleyes are especially plentiful.

Kentuck Lake

Kentuck Lake is a great spot to visit in June. The lake is teeming with both smallmouth and largemouth bass, both of which can be found in shallow water.

Sturgeon Bay

Another great place for smallmouth bass, Sturgeon Bay actually possesses a premier smallmouth bass fishery, so you’re sure to get all the bites you could hope for.
